New Zoning Plan for Bai Vong

Phu Quoc Island has recently seen the approval of a detailed zoning plan for its Bai Vong area, situated to the east of Phu Quoc International Airport. This comprehensive plan encompasses approximately 1,759 hectares, designated for an integrated eco-urban development.

A significant portion of this land, specifically 81.84 hectares, has been earmarked for the construction of a new golf course. This allocation represents about 4.65% of the total planned area for Bai Vong, which is part of Zone 4 within the Phu Quoc Special Zone.

The development aims to create a new urban centre capable of accommodating an estimated 35,000 residents, extending towards the coastline and integrating various services.

Integrated Tourism and Commercial Development

The golf course is planned as a core component within a broader vision for Bai Vong, which includes extensive tourism and commercial facilities, alongside residential zones and green spaces. Beyond the land allocated for golf, the plan designates approximately 126 hectares for tourism services and 57 hectares for commercial services.

Additionally, around 60 hectares are set aside for urban green spaces, ensuring a balance between development and environmental considerations. This strategic location, close to both the international airport and the coast, positions the new golf course within a connected ecosystem of golf, hospitality, and urban amenities, designed to enhance Phu Quoc's appeal as a destination.

Existing Golf Offerings on Phu Quoc

The addition of a new golf facility in Bai Vong will expand Phu Quoc's growing golf market. The island currently features two 18-hole courses. Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc, located in the Bai Dai area, is set within a natural forest and forms part of the larger Phu Quoc United Center resort and entertainment complex.

The other existing course is Eschuri Vung Bau Golf, which offers a coastal links-style layout along Vung Bau Beach. This course is integrated into the Sun Paradise Land Phu Quoc tourism and hospitality ecosystem. The new development in Bai Vong will further diversify the island's golf landscape, providing more options for travelling golfers.

Future Development Details Pending

While the land allocation for the new golf course is confirmed through the zoning plan, specific details regarding its development remain unannounced. Information concerning the project's developer, the appointed golf course designer, the operating brand, the number of holes, and the construction timeline has not yet been made public.

Consequently, the final design and the precise schedule for the golf course in Bai Vong are still to be determined. This development signifies a notable expansion for Vietnam's golf market, and future announcements regarding these details will clarify the scope and timeline for this new addition to Phu Quoc's tourism infrastructure.
